The heart of Restrap’s Switch system; the Switch Rack is compatible with the Restrap Switch Panniers and all other Switch Multimount products as well as any product or accessory that uses 64mm-spaced mounting points, like bottle cages etc.

Which axle do you need?

• All Switch Racks come with an axle supplied. This is designed to replace the one current axle. It is compatible with 142mm and 148mm (boost) spacing and comes supplied with spacers to tune fit. 

• It is imperative to use the correct thread pitch for your frame

• To determine the correct thread pitch, remove your current axle. Many have the thread pitch printed on the axle. It will be either 1mm, 1.5mm or 1.75mm

• If it is not printed on the axle, you will need a ruler. Count out ten threads from the end of the axle and measure the distance. If it is 1cm, you have a 1mm thread pitch. 1.5cm = 1.5mm thread pitch, 1.75cm = 1.75mm. 

• If you are still unsure, check with your frame manufacturer directly. 

Fitting the Switch axle:

• Remove your bike’s current thru-axle

• Remove M5 bolts from both ends of Restrap Switch thru-axle

• Fit the Restrap Switch thru-axle using a 6mm allen key. Use as many 3mm washers as necessary to centralise the top bar over the rear wheel

• Use the supplied axle cone spacer for compatible frames 

Fitting the Switch Rack:

• Slot rack legs over either end of the axle

• Screw in M5 bolts to secure

• Ensure the rubberised fabric strap is tightly wrapped around the seatpost or seat tube

• Use velcro strap to tightly secure the seatpost/tube mount

• Tighten all bolts

Tailoring fit:

• Quick flip system allows you to flip the top bar to maximise wheel clearance and provide a range of seat post or frame mounting points. 

• Simply rotate the top bar and ensure it is centralised. 

• Remove the velcro strap from the seatpost/tube clamp and rethread to ensure the Restrap logo tab is on the drive side (because aesthetics are important)

Compatibility:

• Only compatible with bikes with a 12mm diameter thru-axle

• Compatible with bikes with 142mm or 148mm (Boost) spacing

• Not designed for use with full-suspension frames

• IMPORTANT – ensure axle thread pitch matches your bike. Do not attempt to fit without the correct thread pitch. 

• UDH – bikes with a UDH derailleur will require a Restrap Switch UDH adaptor (available separately)

• SRAM Transmission/T-Type direct mount derailleurs will require a Restrap Switch Full Mount adaptor (available separately)

• High Grade 7075-T6 aluminium axles in 1mm, 1.5mm and 1.75mm thread pitch are available separately
